Editorial Standards & Review Process
How we create, fact-check, and maintain trustworthy home design content.
At The Decor Diary, we hold our publication to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, spatial expertise, and consumer honesty. This policy explains our workflow from pitch to publication.
1. Original Research & Expert Authorship
Every article is assigned to an author with direct domain experience in architecture, interior decorating, carpentry, or spatial organization. We prohibit automated spam generation and shallow clickbait.
2. 4-Stage Fact-Checking Workflow
- Ideation & Sourcing: Concepts are pitched based on real homeowner design challenges and verified architectural trends.
- Drafting & Technical Validation: Dimensions, paint codes, material durability, and maintenance steps are cross-checked against manufacturer specs.
- Senior Editorial Review: Senior editors inspect prose clarity, visual aesthetics, and instructional safety.
- Post-Publication Updates: Articles are reviewed annually to update product availability, code standards, and styling updates.
3. Corrections & Feedback Policy
If an error is discovered in a published article, we promptly update the text with an explicit correction timestamp. Readers are encouraged to notify our editors of needed corrections at thedecordiarystore@gmail.com.
4. Commercial Independence
Our editorial decisions are entirely separate from commercial or advertising partnerships. Sponsors never preview or influence the outcome of our decor ratings or tutorials.
